Artwork details confirmed

I created Domaine Awareness in response to the growing integration of surveillance technologies in New York City, particularly the monitoring system introduced by the NYPD and Microsoft in 2012.

Using images from the city's traffic-camera network, I transformed ordinary views of streets, intersections, and buildings into paintings. Their everyday appearance is central to the work, revealing the city through the lens of a monitoring system.

The series asks how much of everyday urban life can be observed, recorded, and connected to a larger surveillance network, and what it means to live in a city where monitoring has become an ordinary part of the public landscape.
