In FOREVER FREE, I examine the tension between America's political ideals and its historical realities. The title draws from the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863, in which Abraham Lincoln declared that enslaved people within Confederate territories would be "forever free." Although these words represented a pivotal moment, the fulfillment of that promise has remained an ongoing struggle.

The work traces how freedom has continued to be contested and redefined - from Reconstruction and Jim Crow through the Civil Rights Movement and Black Lives Matter. It asks viewers to consider how political declarations gain meaning through the actions, institutions, and collective efforts required to make their ideals a reality.
